Keyword opportunity digest
Once a month, turn your seed topics into a ranked shortlist of keywords worth targeting — volume, difficulty, and a content idea for each — researched with Ubersuggest.
On the first of every month, research keyword opportunities for me with Ubersuggest. My site: <yourdomain.com>. Seed topics: <3–5 topics you want to rank for, e.g. "invoice software, freelancer taxes, payment reminders">. 1. For each seed topic, pull keyword ideas from Ubersuggest with search volume, difficulty, and CPC. Cap the research at 5 seed topics so the run stays light. 2. Shortlist the genuine opportunities: decent volume for my niche, difficulty my domain can realistically rank for, and clear intent. Skip vanity keywords I'd never convert on — fewer good picks beat a long padded list. 3. Present the top 10 as a table (keyword · volume · difficulty · intent), each with a one-line content idea — the page or post that would win it. Note which existing pages of mine could be updated to target one instead of writing something new.
Keyword opportunities — 1 Jul 2026 From 4 seed topics · 212 ideas pulled · 10 shortlisted Keyword Volume Diff Intent ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── invoice reminder email template 2,900 23 transactional → Ready-to-copy template page; you have no page for this and the top result is thin. freelance tax deadline 2026 1,600 18 informational → Update your existing /freelancer-taxes guide — it already ranks #14. recurring invoice software 880 31 commercial → Comparison post; competitors rank with generic listicles. …7 more Skipped on purpose: "invoice" (vol 74k, diff 89 — unwinnable), "free money" (junk intent).
Keyword research is the chore that always slips — it's nobody's Tuesday priority, so content ends up chasing whatever felt right that week. This routine does the research pass monthly: Ubersuggest pulls the ideas, the agent filters them against what your domain can actually win, and you start each month with a shortlist and a plan instead of a blank page.
How it works
- It expands each seed topic through Ubersuggest's keyword ideas — volume, difficulty, CPC —
- and shortlists only keywords with realistic difficulty and real intent for your niche.
- Every pick comes with a concrete content idea, including when updating an existing page beats
- writing a new one.
- The run is capped at 5 seed topics, so it stays comfortably within your Ubersuggest plan.
Make it yours
- Rotate the seed topics as your roadmap shifts — or point them at a product area you're launching.
- Tighten the difficulty ceiling while your domain is young, and raise it as your authority grows.
- Pair it with the weekly SEO health report: opportunities in on the 1st, movement tracked every
- Monday after.
