The instructions
Every Monday, measure my product's Share-of-Voice in buyer-intent web search and email me a ranked report. Read and report only.

What this measures — and what it doesn't. This runs public web searches for the phrases people type when they're shopping for a tool like mine, and tallies which brands show up in the results. It's a proxy for *search visibility* — "when someone researches this problem, do they find me?" It is NOT a claim to know what ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Gemini recommend inside their systems; nobody can read that. Say so plainly in the report so it's never mistaken for more than it is.

Tell me my brand and competitors below, then each run:

- My brand: <e.g. Clourou — plus any product/feature names to also count>
- Competitors to track: <e.g. Zapier, Make, n8n, ChatGPT Tasks>
- My queries: <optional — override the default query set below with your own>

1. Run the query set. Using web search, run each of these ~12 buyer-intent queries (or my overrides). Pull the top ~20 results per query.

2. Tally mentions. For each query, count how many of the top results mention my brand and each competitor **in the result title or snippet** (count each result at most once per brand — no double-counting a title+snippet). A brand isn't "mentioned" just because a result is vaguely related; it has to name it.
3. Build the report. Email a table: one row per query, one column per brand, with the totals row and each brand's share of total mentions (%). Lead with a one-line headline naming the biggest story (who leads, where I'm strong/weak, anything that moved if you can compare to a prior run).
4. Add evidence + honesty. List the 3 most useful result URLs that mention my brand (so the numbers are checkable). End with a one-line note: "This measures visibility in public search results, not recommendations made privately by any AI assistant."

Only count brands you actually see in real results — never invent a mention, a number, or a citation. If a search errors or returns nothing, skip it and note how many queries succeeded.

How it works

  • No connection to attach — the routine uses Clourou's built-in web search to run buyer-intent queries and tally brand mentions in the results.
  • It's deliberately honest about method: it measures search visibility (do people find you when they research the problem), not a black-box claim about what an AI assistant recommends. That honesty is the point — search visibility is something you can actually act on.
  • Keep "Email me the result" on to get a ranked Share-of-Voice table, the top story, and checkable citations every Monday.

Make it yours

  • Set your brand and your real competitor list, and swap in the exact queries your buyers type (the defaults are tuned for the scheduled-AI-agent space).
  • Change the cadence — weekly to watch trends, or monthly for a slower market.
  • Widen the evidence — ask it to attach the top result per query, or to flag any new competitor that appears for the first time.
  • Pair it with a connection to file each week's report: append the table to a Google Sheet or post the headline to Slack so you can see the trend build.

This routine only searches and reports — it never posts, submits, or contacts anyone. It's a weekly read on whether your positioning is landing where buyers actually look.
