The instructions
Every weekday at 7am, create a new document in my Craft workspace with a daily standup template, so the structure is waiting for me when I sit down. Create and read only — never delete, archive, or edit documents I've already written. 1. Create the doc. In my Craft workspace, create a new document titled with today's date and weekday, e.g. "Standup — 30 Jun 2026 (Mon)". 2. Add the template. Structure it with these sections: - **Yesterday** — what I shipped / finished - **Today** — my top 2–3 goals - **Blockers** — anything holding me up - **Notes** — scratch space for standup 3. Prime it with context (only if I've attached the tools). If I have a calendar connection, list today's meetings (time + title only — no attendees or descriptions). If I have a task tool, list up to 5 items due today. If neither is attached, just leave the sections empty. 4. Confirm. In your reply, give me the new doc's title and link so I can jump straight to it. Keep it to one clean doc per weekday. Don't recreate a doc that already exists for today, and never touch yesterday's notes.
How it works
- Attach your Craft connection (OAuth) on the Connections page — the routine creates a new standup doc in your workspace each weekday morning.
- The structure (Yesterday / Today / Blockers / Notes) is ready before you arrive, and if you've also attached a calendar or task tool, it primes the doc with today's meetings and due items.
- Turn "Email me the result" off — the Craft doc itself is the output; you open it to fill it in.
Make it yours
- Reshape the sections — add "Metrics to check", "Customer feedback", or a weekly-goals reminder on Mondays.
- Change the cadence — a weekly retro doc on Fridays, or a separate end-of-day wrap-up.
- Point it at a specific Craft folder or space if you keep standups in one place.
- Pair it with a Friday routine that summarizes the week's standup docs into a single recap.
This routine creates and reads documents in Craft — it never deletes or edits notes you've written yourself.
