Daily transactional email health report
Check your Mailchimp Transactional sending stats and deliverability every morning — delivered to your inbox.
Every morning, give me a health check on our transactional email from Mailchimp Transactional (Mandrill) so I catch deliverability problems early. Pull the account status and the sending stats for roughly the last 24 hours, and report: - Volume: total sent, delivered, and the delivery rate. - Problems: hard bounces, soft bounces, rejects, and spam complaints — counts and rates. - Reputation and hourly quota, and whether either looks like it's drifting. Then a one-line verdict — "healthy" or "worth a look" — with the single most important thing to check if something's off. Keep it a tight scannable report, not raw JSON. If sending was zero, say so in one line.
Transactional email health — 30 Jun 2026 (last 24h) Verdict: ✅ Healthy Volume • Sent 4,812 · Delivered 4,761 · Delivery rate 98.9% Problems • Hard bounces 12 (0.25%) · Soft 27 · Rejects 5 · Spam complaints 2 (0.04%) Reputation & quota • Reputation 91/100 (steady) · Hourly quota 25k, peak use 38% Worth checking: 2 spam complaints from the receipt template — still well within range.
Transactional email is invisible until it breaks — and by the time customers report missing receipts, your reputation has already taken a hit. This routine checks your Mandrill sending stats every morning and emails a plain-English health report, so deliverability problems surface before they cost you.
How it works
- It uses Mailchimp Transactional to read account status and the last day's sending stats.
- One scannable report lands in your inbox each morning, ending with a clear verdict.
- It's read-only — the routine reports on your sending, it never sends email.
Make it yours
- Tighten the threshold — have it only email you when bounce or complaint rates cross a limit.
- Change the window to hourly during a big launch, or weekly for low-volume senders.
- Add a second step to diagnose the worst-performing template in detail.
